Prof. Dillman is perhaps best known for his work with pressure point grappling [tuite] and pressure point striking [kyusho-jitsu] in the martial arts and how they are hidden in forms [ which were expressed in the 'premodern karate' art of Ryukyu Kempo. Dillman began martial arts training in 1961 with Harry G. Smith. He went on to study with Daniel K. Pai, Robert Trias, Seiyu Oyata, Hohan Soken, Muhammad Ali and several others. Official Karate magazine (Nov. 1982) described Dillman as "one of the winningest competitors karate has ever known." Dillman was four-times National Karate Champion (1969-1972) During his nine-year competitive career, Dillman won a total of 327 trophies in fighting, forms, breaking and weapons. Dillman's martial arts talents have earned him widespread U.S. media coverage. He has appeared on 35 national TV shows, including: Real People, Mike Douglas, PM Magazine, Evening Magazine, and NBC's Sports Machine. Dillman has also been featured five times in Ripley's Believe It or Not and has written several books. He was inducted into Black Belt magazines Hall of Fame in 1997.
Founded by Prof Wah-leong "Wally" Jay (June 15, 1917 – May 29, 2011), SCJJ is a principle-based system of jujitsu that is perhaps most well-known for its transitional flow, 2-way action and finger locking techniques. Build in part on the foundation of Danzan ryu and its founder Seishiro [Henry] Okazaki.
During the 1990s Wally Jay, Remy Presas (Modern Arnis), and George Dillman (Kyusho Jitsu) traveled together throughout the United States and worldwide promulgating small-circle jujitsu.
In 1969, Jay was a 3-time inductee into Black Belt Magazine’s Black Belt Hall of Fame.
In August 2002, Jay held a ceremony officially handing the title of grandmaster over to his son Leon Jay in their hometown of Alameda, California. Family, friends, several martial arts masters and the media witnessed the occasion.
Modern Arnis was founded by Prof, Remy Amador Presas (December 19, 1936 – August 28, 2001' Born in the Philippines, he moved to the USA in 1974, where he taught his art via seminars and camps. In He was inducted twice into Black Belt Magazine's Hall of Fame [1982 and 1994]. He published several books and videos on Modern Arnis and is recognized as the "Father of Modern Arnis".
There are many branches on the family tree that is now Modern Arnis. While we trained directly with Prof. Presas and have friendships with many branches, our primary branch is under Grandmaster Bram Frank, his arts are under the banners of Common-Sense Self Defense/ Street Combat, Combat Arnis and Martial Blade Combat/Concepts. He is also an inductee into Black Belt Magazines Hall of Fame in 2007 and a designer and maker of knives and holds several patents for his designs.
